Danilo Bittorf is a photographer, darkroom printer and designer, based in Germany. Capturing the essence of time and existence has always been a driving force behind his work.
Coming from a Graphic Design background and currently pursuing an active career in digital experience design, photography has always been his means of fully expressing himself and sharing his point of view.
In recent years, he has focused on documenting environmental and economic issues, such as deforestation, the man-made disappearance of primeval forests in Germany, and the impacts of economic pressure in Taiwan.
His own photo lab and darkroom allow him to be in full control of the analog process—from film selection, film development, and enlarging process to the final handmade fine art silver gelatin print.
